André grew up in Münster, Germany. He studied Moldcular Biology at TU Berlin and King’s College London and finally photography (his passion) at the prestigious London College of Printing.

His firm belief that people look best when not aware of being photographed is clearly reflected in the naturalness and beauty of his extensive body of work. His calm manner and unobtrusive style and his ability to make his subjects look great has allowed him to photograph many wonderful events including several days with the Dalai Lama. He also was president of the United Nations Photographic Society and organized a worldwide traveling exhbition in that capacity.
